10k training update – week 6

Here’s my training from last week, Monday, August 14 to Sunday, August 20. I’ve done a lot of work to get myself out of my shell to meet people who share my love of running and fitness, and that is very evident by this week’s training update, which includes three group runs or workouts! It’s been amazing, and I am happy that going forward I have more things to look forward to as all three groups have been so welcoming that I can’t wait to go back.

I also got to take a spin on the Lululemon test truck! The tour of Vancouver is done, but check out their website to see where they’ll be next. Maybe your neighbourhood?

10k training week 6

Monday Yoga I did this YouTube video. It was good! A little advanced for me, though. I’m working on getting more flexible.
Tuesday Strength training circuit with Katie + easy run 4.9 km: Final personal training session with Katie and she did not go easy on me. Followed by 30 mins easy on the treadmill.
Wednesday November Project – Rock and Roll workout 6.5 km: V-sits, pistol squats, and partner push-ups (where you clap hands between reps) with lots of hill running between stations. Very hard but fun.
Thursday Physio + intervals easy run 4.29 km: Since I’d decided to join the Fraser Street Run Club on Friday for their 5k run, I didn’t want to burn out and not be able to keep up with them, especially since I don’t know how fast they go!
Friday Easy 5k with Fraser Street Run Club Garmin says 4.68 km: This was AWESOME. Lululemon brought #thetesttruck to meet us at the finish line and I got free pants just for running in them for a minute on a treadmill!
Saturday 40 mins easy My first Parkrun in Richmond (5k) 5km: Way faster than expected, especially since I ran pretty hard yesterday and this was my 5th day running in a row.
Sunday Rest I’m dog sitting so there will be a little walking, but mostly snuggling. 🙂

Total distance: 25.37 km
